As afraid as you may be that crazed potheads will be running amok with guns…It’s simply wrong (and unconstitutional) to ban gun sales to someone because of their choice of medicine. If they were taking opiates would they be banned? How about ambien or one of those other drugs with side effects like depression, thoughts of suicide etc. that might actually make someone mentally unstable and go on a shooting spree…maybe in their sleep with no memory of it? (Hell, that actually sounds like it could be an alibi). And what about HIPPA and your privacy…Why does your medical information become public because the Govt says you need a special ID card to get your medicine? Because the Government wants to regulate your medicine as if it were still contraband, that’s why, and your medical info ISN’T private if you’re one of those “alternative medicine” users, who apparently have less right to privacy than everyone else.
Where’s the proof that MMJ users are more likely than booze swilling weekend skeet shooters to pose a risk to others by owning guns? Nowhere. Because it ain’t true.
