Yes, THIS is why we can do without “A for Effort” – this mentality goes right along with awards for participation, with which we delude our children with false success. You don’t succeed just because you show up and try hard. You get an A for doing EXCELLENT work. Perfect Attendance and effort doesn’t really mean shit unless you pass the tests and make the grades.
