Analysis | Marijuana raids are more deadly than the drug itself

Everything about making recreational drugs illegal makes for deadly consequences. The amount of people who die due to the violence that is directly related to drugs being illegal rather than legal and regulated (like alcohol), exceeds the number of people who come to harm, die or commit crimes due to USING the drugs. Nowhere is this more true than with cannabis, because you can’t OD on weed.
What if weed was legal like alcohol? How many people do you know are selling illegal booze on street corners, or making their own because they can’t buy it? Basically none. Why, when you can go to the store and buy it. Grown-ups should be able to choose if they want to do drugs, and choose which drugs they do. Alcohol, caffeine, nicotine are all drugs too. #MothersLittleHelpers
Make all drugs legal and you take the crime and violence out of the equation. Then people with actual drug dependency problems…regardless of the drug…can get help without fear of persecution or prosecution. #News420
