Because most the money is in the hands of the uber-wealthy who seek to keep that wealth for themselves rather than to make America better for ALL. The rest of the world is doing better than we are, and for a country that touts equality for all, we should be embarrassed that we blindly defend capitalism over human rights.
The ‘invisible hand’ routinely slaps the poor upside the head while picking their pockets clean. Capitalism without conscience is no better than Russian or Chinese Communism, where everyone is equal…except the super rich oligarchy and party elites.
