OMG Mission: Greenland’s Ice Melting Faster Than Previously Thought (Video)

OK…so a couple posts ago I was talking about when the ice that’s on land…not floating in the sea…starts to melt. In terms of sea level rise, ice that is floating shouldn’t cause seas to rise if it melts, since the oceans are already displacing the mass of the ice because it’s FLOATING.
But the ice that’s ON LAND…that’s a different thing altogether. When ice on land melts, the full mass of the ice, as meltwater, moves from land to the ocean. This WILL affect the sea level rise, and Greenland is a HUGE source of ice that’s not floating.
This can’t be a good thing…and the northern summer just started.
