How exactly does an oil spill continue from 2004 until now without being stopped?
Does anyone buy this “act of god” defense, which somehow absolves Taylor Energy from having to actually fix this or clean the mess up?!?!
“Up to 1.4 million gallons of oil has spilled from the site since 2004”
“A spill that has been leaking oil into the Gulf of Mexico for a decade was caused by “an act of God,” the president of the responsible company has said. The flow, which started thanks to Hurricane Ivan, could continue for a century.”
“Up to 1.4 million gallons of oil has spilled from the site since 2004, according to estimates by the watchdog group SkyTruth….Taylor Energy has spent more than $480 million on stopping the leak, AP reported. Earlier in January, the company sued the US government to recover the approximately $432 million frozen in a trust that is reserved for leak response work. In 2015, federal authorities refused to settle with Taylor, ordering it to perform more work at the Gulf site.” https://www.rt.com/usa/329751-gulf-oil-leak-act-god/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=RSS#.VqJDB_yYqiw.facebook A spill that has been leaking oil into the Gulf of Mexico for a decade was caused by “an act of God,” the president of the responsible company has said.
